DAILY TECHNICAL ANALYSIS FOR OCTOBER 27, 2022
EUR/USD
Current level – 1.0077
The Euro has been steadily appreciating against the U.S. Dollar over the last few weeks and managed to regain parity for the first time in a month on Wednesday. However, the EUR/USD needs hawkish ECB and less-hawkish FED to sustain strong upside momentum and provide the bulls with the necessary stimulus to position themselves steadily on the market. Basically, traders expect the ECB to stick to an aggressive rate hike plan, given the high inflation rate, even as the economic outlook darkens. In the early hours of today’s trading session the pair is hovering just below the critical resistance zone at 1.0100, as investors are eagerly expecting the ECB interest rate decision today (12:15 GMT) and looking forward to the subsequent press conference (12:45 GMT) on the bank’s future monetary policy. Another important economic news for today is the announcement of the data on the initial jobless claims for the US (12:30 GMT). If the released data supports the bulls and they manage to overcome the resistance at 1.0100, the most likely scenario is the pair to head towards a test of the next key level at 1.0150, followed by the psychological level at 1.0200. However, a short consolidation in the range 1.0100 – 1.0050 shall not be excluded as investors are expecting the ECB decision. If the price falls below parity, this may suggest that the increase is only a deeper correction of the long-term downtrend.
USD/JPY
Current level – 146.20
At the time of writing this analysis, the sellers are testing the critical support at 146.18 after the strong bearish reversal, and a confirmed breach of this level would pave the way for the pair towards the next key support at 145.30. However, in the short term the pair could make a corrective move towards the resistance at 147.28, as the rally is showing signs of losing steam. The support at 146.18 plays a critical role for determining the future direction of the pair as only a confirmed breach may be considered as a confirmation for a possible continuation of the downtrend.
GBP/USD
Current level – 1.1620
The currency pair is hovering around the support at 1.1611 and it looks like the bulls cannot gain enough momentum to breach this level. The forecasts for today’s trading session are for the bears to make an attempt to recover part of their recent losses and target the support at 1.1437. On the other hand, only a confirmed breach of the resistance at 1.1611 may give the bulls an opportunity to lead the pair towards the psychological level at 1.1700.

Gold price traded negatively to test the key support base 1660.00 and keeps its stability above it until now, which keeps the bullish trend scenario active for today, supported by the EMA50 that carries the price from below, reminding you that our next target is located at 1686.40 while breaking 1660.00 will stop the expected rise and press on the price to turn to decline.
The expected trading range for today is between 1650.00 support and 1686.00 resistance.
